A once-a-year event has flown into DeFuniak Springs, giving the public a chance to marvel at all things aviation.
Vintage planes and specialty aircraft from all over America are coming in for a landing.
For the eighth year, the Marvel of Flight Fly-In and Aviation Expo is here for the weekend with a lofty goal: to get young people excited about about aviation, and inspire a future generation of pilots!
"I got the bug in my blood and I'm trying to pass it along to my little boy," Urlich Kobi said.
Just like Kobi and his son Keanu, families can marvel at more than 100 planes and exhibits, and even meet seasoned pilots like Robert 'Lefty' Langford.
"It's a very rewarding kind of career. I actually more or less have flown for fun," Langford said.
Lefty has been flying for 51 years and said he can't imagine where he would have landed if his life took off in a different direction.
"Actually, I was a paratrooper, then a skydiver and then got familiar with airplanes and just loved it and that was in the mid-sixties and here I am," Lefted explained.
From biplanes to Huey military helicopters, Marvel of Flight gives aviation enthusiasts a chance to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and latest technologies of general aviation. And some even get to experience what its like to fly, from a whole new level!
Getting the opportunity to learn that the sky is not the limit and looking a the world from above gives you a whole new appreciate for all things aviation.
"Anything with wings a propellor, or an engine and goes up in the air, we're for it," Kobi said.
So whether you're in the sky or stay on the ground, you'll be able to marvel at all this event has to offer.
The two-day event, which started Friday, features seminars, guest speakers, and, of course, a unique aircraft ride experience.
