Blakesburg 2013
The weather was a little hot this year with temps in the upper 90's for most of the week. A bunch of the Gardner gang went up in a gaggle early on Thursday morning, with 4 of us in Luscombes (the featured airplane this year). Cam Blazer flew his 1936 Monocoupe 90A, Ron Wright in his dad's old Funk (now belonging to the chapter). Ron flew it up, and his old partner Bob Anderson flew it back on Sunday. For those of you that do not frequent Gardner Airport, you may not have seen that our lot has a gravel base on it that serves as the start of the concrete floor (see pic below)with the hangars first aircraft occupant Dave Wigglesworth's new Kitfox Lite. The building company has given us a date of Sept 9th to start the errection of the building that should take about a week to complete. We should have doors on, floor in time for maybe holloween grand opening, Christmas at wors
